Amazing DIY LED desk lamp with a hidden switch

Hello! I’m Emiel, The Handyman Engineer and Today I am going to create this LED lamp that lights up when you squeeze it. I will build the lamp by putting several layers plywood on top of each other and the same I’ll do with my action button lamp. The first what I need to do is trim these patterns, stick them on the wood, and cut everything. I want the lamp to light when pressing the top of the button and to get it I’m going to create the entire top so it will move up and down a little bit. I’m going to accomplish this by drilling some holes in certain hexagons and then I’m going to put an axis through which you can displace.

Let’s get to work with the drill. The next thing I need is to cut this polycarbonate for the layers light will pass through and I want to see if I can cut all layers at the same time. I will cut A couple of squares and put one on top of the another and then with the saw blade I’m going to cut this shape out and see if it works. I can’t hide the cut in the plastic made for entry as easily as with wood, so I’m going to avoid this by cutting with the jigsaw. For this, I need to drill then trim it with the saw to pierce. It takes a little longer but I think it looks better. Now that I have both the wood and the trimmed polycarbonate, I can start gluing it all together and I’m going to do it in two steps. First, I’m going to make pairs like this with woods and polycarbonate and when you have I will glue all the pairs to create the lamp.

This will become part of the base of the lamp and I need to drill two holes here on the side for the rods that will serve as linear guides and I need to drill a good hole in the middle that will hold the tube for the DIY LED desk lamp. Well, this mechanism is already finished and it works very well as you can see. The next thing I need to do is a lamp of all this. Let’s go over the components that I have created.

I have the tube that I cut and the thing that I have made for the button. This will be placed right here and that will stay here with LEDs around it like this and the button in here so when you press is actually pressing the button. With this of course. We are going to install the electronic part. Thanks for viewing the video! If you liked this video you will probably like these other videos too. Press the subscribe button before go away and don’t forget: dare to experiment and have fun creating! See you next week.
